Hope everyone is having a good week. We got a little behind last week with the days off, but are making up for it this week!
Thanks to all of the parents that are coming in next week to help kids with counting change. I sent out an e-mail, so refer to it for questions. I will send the final schedule out by Friday. (Oct. 7th and 8th) This is such an important life skill and will be useful as the children get older.
The first book report is due on Oct. 30. The information and book should be in your child's hands. I expect these reports to be neat and your best handwriting. If you need drawing paper you will need to ask in class.
Get ready for the Book Fair! This will be housed in our media center from Oct. 5-9. Plan to come by and visit this week!
Report cards go home on Oct. 16th.
The Boosterthon is coming Oct. 19th. This fundraiser benefits the wonderful science lab here at Ford that our children enjoy on a rotation basis.
Please don't hesitate to e-mail or call if you have questions about anything!
If you read this blog, draw a tiger paw for AU in your agenda. The Tennessee vs. Auburn game this weekend and feeling a little orange and blue!

Four Weeks Down!
Many thanks to those who were able to come to Open House on Thursday. We missed those who were not able to come! I sent home a packet today with your child of a few things we went over at Open House, if you were unable to attend. Please let me know if you have any questions.
*We have testing on Wed. Thurs. and Fri. of next week. Please make sure your child eats a good breakfast and gets plenty of rest. We will not have snacks until after testing. Thanks to those who will be bringing in items. Please refer to you schedule to see what day you have been assigned.
We have Media Center on Tuesday of next week. I will be assigning book reports after testing. (near the end of Sept.)
Our specials will change on testing days...from 12:30-1:15. Lunch will be the same.
Cato Permission slips were sent home yesterday. Please get that permission returned when you get a chance. We will plan to go to the Tellus Museum in March. We had a unanimous vote of the ones here at open house to proceed with this trip. The other third grade classes also agreed.
I will send out a blog next week about more specific dates coming up. Thanks again to Mrs. Dennis who made the class information sheet for us. Everyone should have a copy. Also, a special thanks to Mrs. Kalinowski for organizing the schedule of Mystery Reader and Helpers. Contact her if you want to be added to the list.
Have a wonderful long weekend! We all need some rest and family time! Thanks for sharing your children with me! Have your child draw a sun if they read the blog with you or alone.
