A Few Updates

The children have been assigned a poem to memorize by Feb. 18th or 19th. They came home today with a paper and poem.
Biography Report and Desk Top information went home yesterday. Most of the children have selected a book. I don't mind if your child selects one from home or another library...I just need to approve the person and book. These reports are due Feb. 26th.
Six Flags 6 Hour Reading has started. These reading logs and parent signatures are due
Feb. 26th. Your child will receive a free admission ticket to Six Flags if they turn in their reading logs. This is so easy, because everyone is reading already, right? Oh, I think I mentioned this before, but the reading logs for 2nd quarter are due now. Please send those in!
Please continue studying multiplication facts. We are only having mixed up and real deal now. No more in order. If your child misses any on those two days, they need to write those facts three times each.

Happy New Year! Welcome 2010!!!!!!!!

Welcome Back! It's hard to believe we are in the third quarter of school already! It seems like just yesterday we were meeting everyone at Sneak a Peek!
Here are a few reminders for January...since this will be a quick month!
*We are visiting the Media Center Jan. 6th and Jan 13th.
*Computer Lab on Jan 6th and 19th. We will be doing research on animals and writing a "Response to Literature" from the information.
* Jan 18th- Martin Luther King Day- No School!
*Conference Week- January 25th-28th/Early Release-12:15. Letters go home on Jan. 11th.
We had a great visit from Cato today.....They did an animal skull study with the kids. Journals were used to write their observations as they worked together in groups and tried to figure out the animal that the skull came from. The answers were revealed at the end of the hour. Cato will be back at our school on Feb. 2nd.
Science Lab is Jan. 8th.
Reading Logs for 2nd quarter are due now. Send them in this week!
Please continue to review multiplication facts. We are still taking 35 second tests. I expect all children to have them mastered by spring break. Please continue to check your child's agenda daily.
We have biography reports coming up in February and Poetry to memorize.
Have a wonderful month! Let me know if you have any questions or comments!
